Its been quite a busy fortnight for

Monday and Tuesday the 12th/13th November saw the NWLRC 24 dog Open Stakes held at
Houghton
Tower
, Nr Preston. As usual the well organised duo of Brenda and John Drury ensured the event ran like clock work and unlike in previous years when I have attended and come home saturated, I believe the weather was cold but dry. The overall winner was Clarke’s Garronpoint Liffey, with certificates of merit going to
Newton
’s Drewery Lane Dillon and Shetts Emmanyon Gypsy, Dillon was awarded the Maureen Wilkinson Memorial Trophy for best looking
Labrador
from the winners.
Guns Choice was awarded to Tucks Olivertash Primrose.
Monday the 12th saw the club running a 20/20 Optigen Eye Clinic at our secretary’s home where 22 dogs had there blood tests done, we are all awaiting the results with fingers crossed! It was handy to have a vet onsite and the use of online facilities to ensure we had no hiccups on the day. Thanks to Maureen D'Arcy and her merry band of helpers for organising this.

Have you had a look at our KENNEL REVIEWS on the main web site??? I do think this is a great idea and very different from a year book in that you can actually have you pages updated as the year progresses. Its remarkably good value too! Of course this doesn’t have the long term standing of the traditional year book as after the 12 months your pages can lapse and disappear into cyberspace , or you can of course keep them running. With 1 page and 2 colour photos costing just £7.50 it definitely good value to start with and for the rest of the year the club is running an offer of buy 2 pages, get a 3rd page free ! ! ! Its remarkably easy to set up your pages, so why not have a go ?
That’s about it for now I think! Please drop me a line at if you have any news for the next set of notes, or I have missed anything out!
