Newsletter Field Trials 2013
Dear Members

Please find enclosed the schedule, rules and regulations, health and safety information for the four Field Trials the club is holding for the 2013 season.

The club is deeply indebted to our hosts and guns for their generosity in allowing us to hold field trials on their land; to our sponsors Skinners. The generosity of these supporters is greatly valued and enables us to enjoy our sport.

It was a wonderful surprise when we heard that the Duchess of Devonshire had kindly offered us our 2-day Open Qualifying Trial at Bolton Abbey on 23/24 August. This is for one year only, and we are to have our Novice Trial at Chatsworth too. We are very fortunate to be offered these wonderful venues and indeed, we are very grateful. Please note that if you enter for Bolton Abbey, personal fitness and dog fitness is very important. Also, bring insect repellent!!

Any prizes or gifts for the raffle will be greatly appreciated, or if you wish to help at any of the trials just contact me or any field trial subcommittee member. There is always plenty to do and never enough people to do it. I have to rely on the same wiling helpers all the time – why not give them a break? You never know, you might enjoy it!!

Trophies: Last season it was noticed that some of the trophies need repair/refurbishment or even replacement. Will those of you holding trophies please endeavour to get them back to the secretary at the earliest possible moment so that they can be reviewed and any necessary work done.

In an effort to reduce paperwork, it has been decided to change the way entries are dealt with. NOMINATIONS and NOMINATION FEES have been abolished and replaced by an ADMINISTRATION fee. All relevant information in this regard is on the front page of the Schedule. Please read it carefully.

In a further effort to reduce costs and paperwork, when the new website is set up, it is planned to send schedules via email where possible. Please therefore ensure that you notify me of your email address if you have one.

All-Aged Trial – There are now no restrictions on this trial. No Field Trial qualification is required for preference in the draw.

Any entrant withdrawing from a trial may forfeit the full entry fee, if his or her place is not taken up by another competitor, except (1) Where the applicant has qualified out of Novice Stakes (where applicable) or (2) where the dog drawn to run has qualified for the Championship after entries have closed, or (3)on production of a Veterinary Certificate confirming that the dog entered for the stake is unfit to compete, or (4) On production of a Medical Certificate that the applicant or the applicant’s nominated handler is unable to compete. (Regulation J7.f). Please read the rules attached.

Failure to complete the entry form correctly will result in your entry being returned in your S.A.E.
This should include the correct details of dog and owner(s) as shown on the KC Registration, including the registration or stud book number.

• If you wish the results of the draw to be sent via e-mail, please ensure your email address is legible.
• Please write name of applicant on the back of cheques if using a company cheque
• Anyone receiving a run in a Novice trial will not receive preference in the draws of later Novice trials
• Please send a separate cheque for each entry fee and don’t forget the Administration Fee!

Please – no telephone calls after 9.00 pm.

I look forward to seeing many of you at the trials this year – please remember any help and/or a raffle contribution is always welcome! Keep an eye on the NWLRC website, there is an Eye Clinic and various Social events to come, also, do you breeders use the Puppy Register? It’s free advertising!!

Best wishes

Marilyn Marilyn Smith (Hon. Field Trial Secretary)
